Edgemont Moguls Spring Awards Night May 14
The Awards Program was emceed by Emma Warner, current Student Council President.
Student Council sponsor Scott Corbett recognized current members of Student Council; in addition to Warner, they are Jaymie Litzel (3rd year and VP), Cheyenne Custer (3rd year and Sec.), Tylynn Shook (3rd year and Historian), Tyrel Tanner (2nd year), Miles Englebert (2nd year and parliamentarian), Kyla Porter (3rd year and Jr. Class President), Mason Ostenson (1st year and Jr. class rep.), CayD Sedlacek (2nd year and Sophomore Class President), Rodney Darrow (1st year and Sophomore rep.), Dakota Mohler and Tricia Bay-Morgan (both 1st year At-large members), Ashley Mack (1st year and Freshman Class Pres.), Lathen Stevens (1st year and Freshman Class rep.), as well as the two junior high reps: Luella Moore and Tehl Tanner.Student Council officers for 2013-2014 school year were sworn in. K-12 Perfect Attendance:
Keaton Darrow, Peyton Ostenson, Bridgette Neville, Kaitlin Gerard, Chandler Romey, Jordan Clark, Kaleb Darrow, Jacob Mack, Dillon Urban, Dennis Moore, Rhett Beard, Brandon Smith, Jaymie Litzel. In addition, Jaymie Litzel was given special recognition because she has not missed a day of school since February of 2006!
Suzanne Hollenbeck presented the Drama Pins. They were given to Ashley Mack (1st year), Miles Englebert (2nd year), Mason Ostenson (3rd year), Zack Koller (3rd Year), Kyla Porter (2nd year), Cheyenne Custer (3rd year), Emma Warner (3rd year), Tylynn Shook (3rd Year), Jaymie Litzel (2nd year), Tyrel Tanner (2nd year), and Brandon Smith (1st year, stage manager).
Jeff Scheinost presented (with help from a robot) the tech awards. He reported that the Junior High Tech Club included Nathan Tubbs, Emily Moore, Dennis Moore, and Dillion Irwin. The High School Tech club included Andrew Johnson, David Kraus, and Brice Schumacher. The Electronics Class received OSHA safety certification this year, which included Miles Englebert, Zach Evans, and Brice Schumacher.
Ashley Giese presented the Cheer awards for Middle School. Recognized were Kimmy O’Neill, Kenna Aldrich, Jenna Ostenson, Sierra Battles, Deanne Penrod, Dee Ball, Lexie Palmer, Samantha Pulley, and Nakina Hair.
The Hoby Award is a summer leadership camp opportunity for a Sophomore sponsored by First Interstate Bank. This year’s award was presented by Connie Gerard to Rodney Darrow.

Breck Turner, President of the Edgemont Booster Club announced that this year’s winners of the Mogul Booster Award are Dick and Betty Patrick.
Edgemont’s first Freshman Impact
Scholarship Award was presented by SD Highway Trooper Tennyson to Jaymie Litzel.
The National Wild Turkey Federation scholarship was presented by Becky Peterson to Tyrel Tanner.
Ken Tonsager, representing Golden West Teleco presented its 15th annual $1000 scholarship to Jaymie Litzel.
The Daughters of the American Revolution scholarship was presented by Becky Peterson to Emma Warner.
Coach Breck Turner presented the Kelly Komes Memorial Award to Jaymie Litzel.
Don Andersen presented two Alumni Association scholarships to Treg Schaack and Tyrel Tanner.
Lynda Andersen presented the $1000 First Interstate Bank Scholarship to Tyrel Tanner.
Mavis Thoreson, representing Friends of Education presented two $500 scholarships to Tyrel Tanner and Emma Warner.
Paula Hardy Morrow presented the Vision Source Award for “most improvement in Math and Science” to Treg Schaack.
The Kenny Martinson Masonic Scholarship was presented by Connie Gerard to Tyrel Tanner. The $500 cash award goes directly to the student.

Finally, the Valedictorian (Emma Warner) and Salutatorian (Jaymie Litzel) received their ribbons which will be worn during graduation.
